By integrating an email server to vScope you can notify users about eg. changes in reports, alerts or whenever a report is shared with the user. If the integration fails, administrators in vScope will receive an email containing a detailed issue description (this email is sent by using InfraSight Labs’ default email server).
Here are the most common email server errors.
The email server is not responding as expected. This is known to be caused by either of the following:
- Exchange servers have Message Throttling – Significant number of queued mails may be sent within a short period of time depending on number of users, alerts and reports, causing throttling to engage.
- The network cannot transfer the data to the mail server within the specified time interval in the mail server timeout
- Inbound rules in the network security group (Network Network Deny) on the application is blocking the incoming email server acknowledgment message
